The only "Slide Rules" in my school was how far you could skid on the gym floor.
Think most of the school funds was spent on new canes and chalk board rubbers to replace the ones that the teachers used to lob at you when we thought we was being clever.

I was earning £4 a week mid sixties, when a pint of 'IPA' was 1/5p or a pint of 'Red Barrel' was 1/7p. That's around 15 pints for quid, Hate to think how much 15 pints is in a disco now lol
