My last car was a Ford, and had one of those. It also had the leaky diesel injector problem. I'd rather wipe the windscreen than scrape solid carbon off the cylinder head.

What always puzzles me each frosty morn is the apparent shortage of de-icer spray and ice scrapers. I have yet to see anyone using de-icer spray and a proper scraper. Credit cards and similar diminuitive items yes, or sometimes steaming kettles - !

I have an ice scraper, but on certain types of frozenness(sp?), a plastic credit-style card works better. And I never ever use de-icer. I don't want it anywhere near my paintwork thanks.

I miss my old heated windscreen. It was brilliant. I wouldn't buy another Ford though.
