Well I'm not thanking them!

About 4 weeks ago I bought an Edinburgh Bicycle workstand. Very happy with it, cracking piece of kit. Then my wife spotted the Lidl offers and gave me the nth degree about how much I paid and whether the Lidl one wasn't good enough for me.

You would think I did it on purpose!

Got mine, took it out of the box, assembled and got a job done I've been meaning to do for some time (didn't really need a workstand for it but "Ho Hum"). Put on new large change ring. Have had new ring for about a month. I then stood and thought about what else should I do. Might put new gear cables on tomorrow or get round to that bearing rebuild I've been meaning to do. The work you find you must do when you get a new toy  .

I'm looking for a cheap wheel truing stand now though my wheels are pretty good for their age and my amateur trueing with a marker pen and the brakes.

Got one last year, a design classic; can't understand why my wife keeps complaining about it living in the lounge !!! A must for anyone with less than three hands.

Bought one today. Assembled it - all went swimmingly until putting on the magnetic tray. One bolt only, one bolt missing. Had to disassemble it, put it back in the box and take it back. And let me tell you it's no easy matter putting a Lidl bikestand back in a box. There's obviously some kind of secret sequence. Got a new one. Assembled it - all went swimmingly. Now can't think of anything that needs fixing...

I bought one today - there were about ten or so in Stowmarket Lidl at 8.30am. Impressed with the quality; the Lidl website pictures don't really do it justice.

I'll probably add some soft rubber pads to the clamp, though.

I have a cheap £14 Draper one(its also certainly the cheaper one at edinburgh bicycle ) that does a very good job at lifting the back wheel. It's very bad value compared to the LIDL one and stopped me from justifying a LIDL visit.

Bought one as well today and I'm really impressed. Makes you wonder how on earth everyone else manages to charge double the price and get away with it. Magnetic tray is a neat touch when you wouldn't expect it for the money.

I sent the wife out early this morning as I heard they go fast. She said there was eight available not long after opening time so glad I did this as if I would have popped in after work there would have been none.

i went at 6pm and there were about 4 left at Stowmarket after i got one, was quite surprised they had so many.

Quick question though...... the box shows a telescopic bar to keep the handlebars straight, did anyone get one in the box?? didn't have one in mine?!?

thanks
