I managed to find a brand new Cree t6 light on eBay and won it for a bargain price. I need it for my London to Paris trip next week so I decided to see how long it stayed on for once charged. It had been on for about half hour or so at full brightness but when I went to pick it up it almost burnt my fingers it was that hot.
I'm assuming that's not normal ???
Saying that I also realise that it was on inside the house and not outside in the cool air ..... , surely it shouldn't get that hot even inside ?

They got hot when switched on, they cool when you move and the air blows around them.

I wouldn't leave it on without air cooling it.

My Hong Kong jobbie gets really hot if switched on full power, my magicshines have got a cut in to reduce the lighting output when they overheat. Once you're outside with cool air blowing over it, it'll be fine.

Yep, same with my T6 and U2 lights. I tend to only use them on low mode for other purposes, but whilst on the bike the air flowing over them keeps them nice and cool.
