Hi am looking for a light that has a good beam for riding on dark country roads Ano the saying gos you get what you pay for but am looking best value for money
Fenix BC30 was the best front light I could get and is well priced compared to others. I have one for sale in the 'For Sale' section. http://www.cyclechat.net/threads/fenix-bc30-bike-light-for-sale.167888/
Best rear light I think is the Exposure Flare. Can get it for about £28 if you search around
Felt a lot safer with this set up and coudl see where I was going very well.
Ok mate cheers how much for that one the more options the betterI'll let you know when my Solarstorm x3 arrives tomorrow![]()
You should not be using that on roads. Utterly stupid and ignorant. It being marketed as an off road light would make it obvious in the first instance. The beam pattern is silly, you want something with a long centre throw, with some spill and not shinig right up into everyones faces like that. It is not all about lumens.
I don't understnd why people want to buy lights like that anyway ,that have a lump of external battery pack that has to be mounted somewhere. Lights that use cr123 or 18650 batts are better in every way, they are never going to leave you stranded, as you can have spares. If the batteries go duff over time you can get new ones cheap. Plus an overall smaller foot print on your bike.
Looks impressive, but where do you put the battery? Is the lead long enough to reach the bottle cage?I went for this

Only had time for one ride with them so far but I can't see you getting better for the money. For the unlit roads I'll be using, I found my options limited. I wanted 2 hrs minimum with 1000 lumen minimum. Didn't find any self contained units being close to what I wanted.
