Light & Secure Lock?

Hi.

Can anyone recommend a good light and secure lock? I've just purchased a Kryptonite 1218 but it's arrived in the post and it's far too heavy. I was using a MasterLock self-coiling lock, but it has now seized up.

I've looking for something that while being secure, is also light as I carry it with me and I don't want to add to much weight to my bike.

Any suggestions please?

Secure = heavy unfortunately unless just for a swift cafe stop in countryside where bike not out of sight

Avoid cable locks, can be cut through in seconds

Hiplocks offer a wearable, fairly secure solution ( as long as not leaving all day in a city, at a station etc)

Fast and careful!
For the times I have a to secure my bike,I use a coil lock and a graded padlock , they fit in my centre rear pocket and I can remove front wheel and thread the lock through both wheels and frame and secure it to a pole, not the lightest but for me the most practical

I just get used to carrying the weight normally when commuting and then find the bike is so nice when I don't have to carry a lock.

The other option is if you only ever lock it up in one place you could leave the lock there most of the time, you just need to check it's not been tampered with.
