Had some odd looks this morning.

Plenty of cyclists in hi-vis (alongside the ones who who ride apparently in a "magic bubble" - in the peeing rain in jeans and don't seem to have a drop of rain hit them) but I was the only one with any lights.

At least - I think it was my lights that got me odd looks.

Is it some kind of strange faux pas to ride in the rain with lights on, using the logic that most of the cars are lit up so drivers subconsciously look for lights rather than shapes?

I can't BELIEVE you had LIGHTS on!!!!! What about the KITTENS???!!!!!

Only one on my commute with lights on too.

Some dull areas under trees where filtering - guy in front of me was almost invisible.

Yup, lights here too yesterday... dull day, raining a bit, dark under trees. Makes sense.

I have sections on my commute through long bridges/tunnels. Lights on every time for me but not always for other cyclists which seams a little silly.

Lights on today, gray, raining with a low level mist. Use rear light in flashing mode most days regardless of the levels of visability.

Another summertime Christmas tree here.

Not me, actually. My lights come off in April and go on in September/October but I probably should have a pair of small ones fitted for such an occasion.

If it is raining like today, I always put my lights on, if it only makes a small difference then that is enough justification.

I had my lights with me, but didnt use them. It was quite a bright morning (although overcast).

Most motorists didnt have their lights on either.
