We've looked at those in the past, if they were half the price.........

I use a Gelert "chair". It has no legs and the backrest is adjusted by straps linked to the front of the seat, weight @250gms, the padding is similar to a roll mat material so its quite warm on a chilly evening bought for backpacking about 20yrs ago so quite longlasting.

Dave, agreed they are pricey but years of experience has taught me not to try too hard to save money as it bites you on the bum later.

Re a 250g chair I would be interested but suspect that if 20 yrs old will not be around any more. I am getting on in years, so would need convincing re being down that low though!

Anyone got any lightweight tips?

There are some available under the Highlander brand that are similar, weight quoted at 450 gms so probably a bit more padded than mine.

Mrs D is always on about not having a comfy chair to sit on when we're touring (we use aluminium folding stools at the moment), I might be tempted to get her one as an anniversary present (two days into this years tour) but I'd like to have a look at / sit on one before shelling out that much.

I like the look of those, I see they are available at Millets for £10 less than the link in the op, might be worth having a look in the shop and a test ride

Comfy, light and stable. I had alook at one in Cotswolds.
