My very first concert was unforgettable, Motorhead at the Leicester DeMontfort Hall 1981 Ace Up Your Sleeve tour, I really had no idea what to expect and went along for the ride with a friend from school, I was 13 and we arrived late missing the support band, so my very first experience of a live band was Motorhead, I remember my school friend Neil and I pushed our way right down to the front to the left of the stage right in front of a massive Marshall stack, it was a sea of sweaty denim and patchouli oil. The lights went out and all we could hear was the hum of the Marshalls, next thing I there is a growl from Lemmy, a blinding lighting rig and a wall of noise that hit me like an express train. It totally blew me away, from that moment on I was in love with Rock music. I think my ears rang for at last two days afterwards. I will never forget the bomber rig.
Pantera was pretty incendiary too.
