Live Strava segments on a Garmin device for free

I've been hearing a lot about getting live Strava segments on a Garmin device but, unfortunately, it means paying for their premium membership. I've done a bit of research and have found a decent, free solution.

My purchase of an Edge 1000 coincided with be starting a two month free trial of Strava premium so initially I did not realise this was a paid for feature. Good to know I can continue to use this function when my trial ends.

Between your information above and the StravistiX plugin for Chrome I personally dont feel the need for the annual fee.

The site told me for my Edge 1000 to stick the file in the 'New Files' folder

Not surprising, given that the Edge 705 was first released prior to Strava even existing.
