^Believe it or not that was an ‘afterthought’. It was the builders who suggested putting wooden paneling to close off the old fireplace to make a media wall. I need to think about getting the ceiling painted black/dark and surrounding walls to minimise light reflection. The project was under £1k which for a 3LCD 4K unit isn’t bad. Really had to capture the contrast levels in a picture, in short it looks pretty damn good. For games like Forza, ‘drivers’ view now is actually usable and makes the whole thing feel more real!!

Your builders have done you a solid there. Great suggestion. In a previous house I had dreams of a cinema room, but that didn't work out. One day!
Home really is where the heart is, a mad week at work, was out of the house at 7am today and didn’t get back in till 7pm. Now chilling to a bottle of Primitivo (Aldi’s finest 
). For all the amazing open spaces the house now has, it’s still some how feels amazingly cosy and warm. Kudos to our architect and builders, feeling unbelievably lucky to be living in such an amazing space

Looking at the bungalow from the front it's amazing how sympathetic the architects design. It really doesn't look like we are living in a totally different interior space with double height ceilings across the entire central space of the bungalow.
When we had the snow recently really made us appreciate the bed room glazing.
There is now so much light coming into the house, but it's the garden that really shines. We get views of it from every single room.
We feel amazingly lucky and privileged to have been able to do what we've done.......I personally am up to do it all again for our 'retirement' home, but SWMBO is less keen to go through it all again

All the gadgets are now up and running including both the CCTV and video door bell, home battery and heating also. All with remote access and no cloud based subscription.
We work the Cat6/WiFi connections hard though, just under 30 connected devices in the house.
