Young people are playing games like GRAND THEFT AUTO and taking to the streets and smashing/burning mugging etc. They are playing a real life video game.
We are all responsible for what happened last night and the politician’s/police chief etc. have no idea of what is happening in our society and real life.
The police have drafted in extra Police from other areas. What will happen now is other areas will kick off and then there will not be enough Police to cover this.

Oh come on. This is like the Jamie Bolgeq murded being blamed on Childs Play 3. This type of argument removes responsibility from the perpitrators of the crimes.
As for us "all being responsible" I would agree if the general public had a right to fight crime. As we don't how the hell can we (as the public) be responsible for the actions of sheeple?

A real prison where the inmates don't get TV,xbox, and generaly better stuff than they have at home. Punishment should hurt; mentaly if not physicaly. To many use prison as a way to meet up with friends.

The difficulty, I think, is that many of the looters know what they were doing was wrong, but don't care very much. They, as in other sections of society, have an inflated sense of entitlement. Matters are hardly helped by an elite who do much the same.

Oh come on. Nobody wants to go to prison.
I used to design bits of prison. And I've designed a lot of social housing. And I can tell you that prison is a fearful thing, degrading, dangerous and soulless. (For the designer it's a great education - thinking about how to draw a building that can't be used to kill oneself or others is very taxing...)
Anyroadup. It all looks pretty normal round our way. The supermarkets are closing early which makes me wonder if our 1.15am splash n' dash at Tescos will happen on Friday night, but, other than that we survive. If you're sending food parcels by chopper, we're right out of foie gras.
