What happened on the Beacon road is exactly why I would never use that route in daylight - drivers are so impatient there. Other than that, I'm glad you had a good ride. I had it in mind last week to make your little heart sink @ianrauk by posting that I was thinking of coming along .

It really wasn't the drivers fault as far as I could make out. Both cars were going at a slow speed past cyclists. It's just that what looked like was a momentary lapse of concentration by the cyclist, or travelling too fast down the hill. The cyclist was apologising to the motorist she hit

That road ought to be made one way for general traffic with a solid line cycle lane the other way.

It'd be an interesting debate which way, though.
