Phew! Up to 75% of services into Waterloo are not running Thursday & Friday. Scary message about checking the Journey Planner that's SNAFU at the moment. According to SWR's info, however, it appears that the 2138 from Southampton Parkway is, if somewhat slowly....arrives 2335!!

Strangely, the train times I checked a few days ago (before the alarming message appeared) are still in place unaltered....

Euston is absolutely fine for getting to the Ride on Friday. But for Saturday and Sunday Euston is closed (HS2 building). So personally I've got a ticket for St Pancras to Wellingborough on the Saturday. That's East Midlands Trains and they strictly limit bikes to two per train. So Brompton it is!

The plus side is that I shall arrive from Whitstable into St Pancras and then depart from St Pancras for Wellingborough. Who said the British transport system wasn't seamless?

Another plus is that I shall pedal past the Tesco in Wellingborough where we had the first breakfast on LonJoG!

Update: Waterloo station improvement work - Until Monday, there is a further severe reduction in South Western Railway service. Around 75% fewer trains than usual will run today, Thursday and tomorrow, Friday, due to Network Rail’s improvement works at the station. Thameslink programme works - From Saturday until Saturday 2 September, Southeastern trains will not serve Charing Cross, Waterloo East or London Bridge stations while Network Rail carries out improvement works as part of the Thameslink programme.
