Anyone else seen The Railway Man? I now find instant expertise on the best train routes slightly worrying....
When you live on the Met line and work in the City and use a Brompton to get around and have management conferences in Wembley... it's just life.

Yes I knew the Tube and mainline network really well at one point when I was in London on and off for 2 months a few years back.

I gained the 'dexterity' that locals and regular commuters have, and could plan out complex journeys in my head without ever looking at a map.

These days I often have to use one of those mini maps, and knowing what I used to be like, it is embarrassing - I feel like such a tourist!! :blush::laugh:
