I cycle 40 miles a day, Monday to Friday. 30 miles going to work then get the train part of the way home to get time with the kids so its only 10 miles back

Commute distance varies, depending on time available.

1. Not much time, part drive and then cycle last 8 miles each way, mostly flat, 3 miles countryside, 5 miles town.
2. Bit more time, part drive and then cycle last 11 miles each way, slightly lumpier in 6 miles countryside section.
3. More time, part drive and then cycle last 15 miles each way, much lumpier in 10 miles countryside section (edge of Exmoor).
4. Bags of time, cycle all the way in, 24 miles each way in from coast, over edge of Exmoor and drop down into Taunton. Return trip harder from both gradient and prevailing wind points of view, ends with one mile pan flat ride along the sea front, before a shower, meal and a cider. Bliss. ^_^

100km, (or 61 miles if you're in UKIP.) 50 there, 50 back on A roads.

Probably average three idiots each way, and one raging motorist.
