I think the most amazing thing is that you've spent all that money on a Defy 1 and only done 10 mile rides on it all year! Get better shorts, do more miles.

I used to ride with a Spoon on my old Raleigh 400 and it was a little more forgiving but still ended up having to move around a lot if sat in one position too long. I've still got it somewhere so it won't cost anything to try it again I suppose.

Find the Spoon and hold it next to your existing Defy saddle. You might find it is the same saddle design

Chapeau on making such a leap in distance.:bravo: Not surprised you're a bit sore after that though.

Saddles are an incredibly personal thing so are very difficult to recommend. I can't get on with the Charge Spoon already mentioned but do get on with the B17, although it is not perfect, particularly when getting round the 100 mile mark.

I notice that the Brooks Team Pro is popular with the Audax crowd who I presume know what they are doing. As this is designed for use with drop bar bikes would it be of any interest?

I have a defy 3 and the saddle was awful for anything above 30 miles.
My charge spoon is great up to 200 km
At 300k it becomes very unfriendly.
The Madison flux was another horrible saddle (don't even like to think about that one)
Selle SMP extra I like for off road but the mileage is much less
Have a just got a Brooks B17 I'm going to try next.
Am beginning to think my bum just doesn't get on with saddles
Hope you fare better

TBH that's this year with the exception one 33 miler in May. We usually go for a ride for 40 mins straight in after work every night. This was the first weekend we had free with decent weather. It could be a shorts problem or just that I need to try ass butter or whatever its called ! The chamois cream would be a cheaper option to try before new shorts or saddle.

Might have done on an older Defy 1 but my spoon looks nothing like the Giant Performance Road saddle with the 2014 model.
