Years ago an old chap asked me to refit his handlebars upside down on his XV535 "Geoff Dukes style".

It was a bit of a faf with the cables but managed it in the end an it was surprisingly comfortable.

I bet a few people did a double take as he road past!.

Reversed or 180 degree rotated bars wasn't that uncommon a mod when I was a teenager in the 70s. Better than apehangers, which were downright dangerous especially if the clamp wasn't tight enough and had been shimmed with a drinks can or some vinyl tape. *cough*

You what? It looks like there are small black bar plugs.

What's the problem with it? It's just reversed bars. People don't do that enough these days. That bike was never going to be considered a looker, so might as well make it comfortable.

I don't think the OP has a leg to stand on about style - we've seen pictures of his hat
