I think the castellated removal tool is the same one I have for the cartridge bearings on my SPDs but can Look Keo cartridge bearings be adjusted to take up play?

The Look tool is red : http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/cycle/7/Look_Cromo_Axle_Assembly_Removal_Tool/5360018170/

Dunno if the SPD one is actually same fit.

But you need the Look tool for KeO Classics and Sprints, Carbons you simply need a ring spanner for.

Remove pedal from bike and put into vice/workmate, then turn tool appropriate way - for no reason I can imagine, the Look tool has direction arrows saying which way is tighten and loosen on the left and right pedals, but it's on the the face-down side when you're using it...

I've not actually had the bearings out of the pedal but have removed the axle, regreased and put it back in - major improvement !

You were right Andy, it's not the same. The Look and Shimano castellations are spaced differently. Shame. Off to Wiggle I go.
