Looking for a cheap road wheel

I have an old Raleigh Equipe road bike which is in need of a new front wheel (takes a 700 x 23 tyre)

I'll probably be buying a new bike, perhaps in the January sales, so don't really want to spend too much on the wheel.

Any recommendatrions would be appreciated.

I just cycle 'here and there' nowhere particularly far, so don't need a super technical wheel. The existing wheel has a quick release skewer, but I don't think I need this .. in fact I know I don't.

Decathlon does very good value wheels on a budget. here or second hand on the bay!

Or just give Recyke-Y-Bike a ring. Its a short ride down and they are certain to have more than a few decent 2nd hand ones.
