Hi,
I've just signed up to this forum having seen some in depth discussion by Tony Smith and others concerning Fothergill frames. I'm a cyclist/mechanic from Cambridge/London in my mid twenties. In short, my housemate's girlfriend was over the other night. A bit of discussion later and it turns out she is the granddaughter of James Fothergill - and it doesn't sound like there is a single frame left in the family! I have made it a bit of mission to locate a frame in her size and build up a classic road bike for her.
Waiting on exact sizes but a small ladies road frame, perhaps 53cm but tbc. Just thought I would throw a message out to you all to see if anyone might be able to point me in the right direction. Calling various second hand bike shops in Liverpool whenever I get the chance. Budget... well, last resort is just finding some nice lugwork on a unidentified old frame and giving that a respray & decals, but would so much prefer to get a real Fothergill for her if it's in the realms of possibility.
Many thanks for any help,
Safe riding,
Art
