I couldn't find my blue cotton cap and have turned the house upside down in the last week and the shed too, checked at work and asked if it had been handed in at the Co Op I stop at on the way home.

I found it this morning. In my pillowcase.

Have you found/lost anything somewhere you might not be expecting it?

I've often lost things, given up on ever finding them again and then discovered I left them at a friends place a year ago. I'm flummoxed at how your cap ended up in a pillowcase though. Had you washed then both together?
My particular speciality is putting things in a safe place, or an inconspicuous pocket in my luggage. I'm doing well if I ever find them again...

When I was out for a ride a couple of months ago we got to the half way point and I found that one of my cleats was loose. The reason for this was that I had lost one of the bolts as I didn't know where I would have lost it I didn't bother looking to much. Then 3 weeks ago I smashed up my bike and had to be picked up in the car when i got home I found the bolt just sitting on the drive. Couldn't believe it had been there all the time about 3 ft from the front door.

I lost my bike lights for three days. I looked everywhere, and resigned myself to being grounded after dark until I could buy a new set. Then I found them in the pocket of my work bag, which is exactly where I (thought I had) looked first!

All the time ... I'm the sort of person that you will find the jar of coffee in the fridge and the milk in the cupboard. I just have to sort of retrace my footsteps and try and think what other jobs I was doing.

The other thing I do is ... not look for it specifically but just start tidying... and probably in the process of tidying I might end up where I set down the thing.

As for loosing my lights.... because I do it constantly (and have children - therefore multiple bikes and fittings for lights), I have lots of lights so I just grab the nearest ones that I can find. Sometimes when I have a clear out of my bag I might find I'm carrying around 3 rear lights!!!

I lost my virginity once, and I'd be really shocked if I found it again!

Couple of weeks ago on camp I managed to lose my bike computer (which I hadn't intended to take with me but thats another story) at the campfire. Thought it had fallen in the fire and resigned myself to buying a new computer when I got home. Two days later got out of my sleeping bag and felt a hard lump by the pillow cover, further invesigation turned up the missing computer. Though how it got into my bedding I don't know.

Spooky - I just went for a ride with a mate and he has just found his missing leg warmers in a bag that he'd searched three times before!
