I was down at Harrogate visiting our friends at the weekend.

Now coming from Glasgow and in particular where I live you can be out in the country within 10 mins and go on some decent rides.

You guys on the other hand are really lucky. My mates live off Duchy Road for those who know the area and within 5 mins you can be in the middle of the country and have the choice of loads of decent routes which must be challenging and great fun.

Been down loads of times but never taken the bike as no one else is that into cycling. I will the next time though.

Just come back from 3x 80 mile days with 10 cycling mates going from Morcambe, Lancaster, Kirkby Stevens, Tan Hill, and out to Easingwold, York, Market Weighton and finally to Bridlington... Mostly on Sustrans routes. Fantastic countryside, great scenery and some highly undulating terrain. Recommended!

too right it's good up here - I spent Sat'day roughstuffing it around the lower Lune Valley (Bentham, Hornby etc) and yesterday walking and gorge-swimming near Kirkby Stephen. Two wonderful days out...

Were you in 'Utopia' in Brid on Saturday night and did we snog? I was ver ver drunk...

If I wanted to spend my time in a cattle market, I would have apprenticed myself with an auctioneer.

Utopia is to nightclubbing, as Corby is to Civic pride

What else do 10 fat middle-aged blokes want for the last night of their boys cycling weekend... Glynbourne?
