I'm a bit late to the video, but I only just watched this. Isn't it amazing how drivers will make up tales to cover their own failures?

This old man claims to be an ex-driving instructor. My goodness, people like this actually teach people how to drive?

He should not be allowed to drive let alone teach anyone, just think poor attitude he has instilled in his former pupils.
The jamming on the brakes looks almost as bad as the overtake.

I only saw it a few weeks ago. Shocking driving, the sudden braking whilst in front of the scooter rider just showed how bad a road user he is. Such a stupid thing to do in front of any vehicle in the damp.

Looks to me the scooter rider is a bit further to the right than he needs to be - he's over what used to be the centre line when the road was two lanes.

But that's just hard luck on the Jag driver - no excuse for trying to barge past when there is insufficient room.

Doesn't matter mate. If he was a horse rider he wouldn't have done that would he.

The point is he's another road user. If the driver thought the biker was acting the maggot even more reason for NOT doing that stuff.

i suspect its not two lanes, it looks like it narrows alot at the top so i think it may have been some lazy ground crew or it may be for long lorries and then they just narrowed more and more over a distance.
The only reference point if it was two lanes is the tarmac line and he is right of this so in the second lane.

2 lanes or not, scooter driver too far to the right or not. There is absolutely no excuse for the way the Jag driver tried to squeeze through. Appalling driving.

I agree, it is not two lanes, clearly one, and should be treated as such.

But I suspect it was two lanes in the past, which does give an indication of the width of the road.

Also, cars and a lorry (I think) pass the Jag when it's parked for the argument.

As I said earlier, the fault is with the Jag driver.

Scooter boy could have ridden a yard or two to the left, but chose not to, which he is entitled to do.

i know for one thing. The polices reply is poor and the person who stated that should be hung drawn and quartered(jk).

One YouTube commenter suggested it was because the Jag driver wanted to get the scooter rider to rear-end him in order to shift the blame to the scooter rider. This seems like quite a credible idea to me, especially given how prepared the Jag driver was for dealing with the whole thing. Look at how he goes back and measures the road. I reckon he's had a fair bit of practice with collision aftermaths.

Bummer for him that Joe is running a helmet camera.

My understanding is that the Police let Joe down and didnt bother even looking at the video but that the insurers are now possibly looking at it. Disagree with it having ever been two lanes, sometimes the entrance is wider due to the speeds traffic does as it exits a roundabout. Sure I remember a traffic engineer having said that can be the practice they employ.
