I'm amazed you would try to put any blame on the scooter rider, beano. His riding was great, and his behaviour and manner after the collision were remarkable for such a young lad, especially being browbeaten so unfairly by such a nasty old c@hnt.
I'm beginning to think Beano has no two-wheel experience at all - or he wouldn't be nit-picking the riding so much when drivers are clearly at fault.

It's all change on the licence details next month. I'm not sure exactly how or what, mind.

CBT remains the same, more stages to work through between being 17 and having a super bike however,
the power level of bike you take your test on is what you are limited to, your age dictates how bigger bike you can take your test on.

Why would anyone just be content with riding inefinately on a CBT L plate bike license? I did my CBT and then got my full bike license as soon as I could. Passed first time. It definitely improved my anticipation of other road users and road conditions, staying safe.

Two things:

I've got my full cat A license

Yeah let's not bother looking at the scooters riding at all and analyse what perhaps they could have done better. That's the way to learn that is.

I get the distinct feeling you're just trolling now. Doesnt matter what road once was, it matter what it was when the incident occured. And you did technically question the riders positioning (which I why I replied about dominant position). You are by proxy defending the indefensible.

Sorry but the above is untrue, only when the instructor is happy with your handling off a bike will they sign you off. It's not uncommon for a CBT course to run into two or maybe even three days.

How long ago did you take your cat A, did you have to do CBT?

I took my CBT in the summer and my full tests in November.

While you are correct that if an instructor is not happy with your bike handling they will not sign you off, two people on my CBT had only ever cycled on the road and nothing more before doing their CBT, they both picked it up well during the day and so passed, as such I feel justified in describing it as a crash course.

I learnt more about where and what I'm checking for with shoulder checks and at different types of junctions from having two days of tuition leading up to my tests and feel that I am a much better rider for it, this is after having about half a year of riding under my belt between CBT and undertaking this training and tests. I've held a car license for 12 years.

the CBT doesn't cover everything as they are limited to what types of roads they can take you on due to time constraints, if the only way to take you on a bit of national speed limit duel carriageway would make for a two hour ride they may not do it, I didn't go above 40mph on my CBT as none of the roads around the site and local town allowed for it.

In training for my test, I was taken out on all manner of roads on some long-ish rides, not all of it were 'test routes' but did throw up interesting things such as mini roundabouts with zebra crossings on the exits etc.

Just looked at it again (if we're willy waving about passing our tests - driving licence 25 years, bike licence 28 years) I don't see anything wrong with the riders position going onto the slip. There's faded chevrons/hatching and a line of decaying road surface. If anything I might have been slightly further right.
The drivers an aggressive ignorant tit.
Coppers response needs a complaint.

It is staggering that cops aren't taking this seriously and approaching the driver of the jag. He is an impatient bully and dangerous driver. A dick head. He seems to only want to get the motorcyclist's insurance details, must be a scammer. The scooter rider should have told him to sling his hook and get lost. He needs to re-report this to the cops complain if they don't speak to the driver about his poor standard of driving on this occasion. The scooter rider will have the last laugh as he is filming it all. He was remarkably calm considering. He should have called the cops there and then.

The jag driver is an ex-driving instructor!!!! He should be more aware of the need to give vulnerable road users more room, not trying to knock them down or force them off the road. What an arrogant idiot. Ex-driving instructor, says it all really. I suppose lots of his students failed their tests that is why he is an ex-instructor.
