well, IMO,

weaving in and out of pedestrians - not cool

weaving in and out of motorized traffic - cool

But you can go along that stretch of the Thames at 5-8mph without any problems, except for all the pinch points, but that's where it's good to be on a fixie, really easy to slow down quickly and smoothly and not lose any control

Along Bishopsgate
RLJs - Couriers and POBs
Pavement cyclists - couriers
Wrong way round traffic islands - Couriers, POBs and motorbike

Least likely to break the law - Road bikes

Just my observations :becool:

You do part of my commute Mr Cellophane. Worst junction for vehicles RLJing= Monument lights. Vans, cabs, cars and lorries flout the lights and jam up the junction, plus there's that stoopid trick they have of driving past the red and being stuck on the crossing so that when my lights change to green they then barge into the legally-moving traffic, probably ten or 15 seconds after their lights have changed to red.

I really don't like to see people on bikes being inconsiderate to pedestrians, they are more vulnerable even than cyclists so we have a duty of care while they are in proximity.

I like to see dangerous and shocking cycling on the roads around motor vehicles though. It draws attention to the fact that there are mad cyclists on the roads which will undoubtedly convince the majority of careful drivers of their need to be extra vigilant.

I don't see why anyone would want to cycle on a section so crowded with pedestrians. Progress is slow and frustrating, I'd rather take a longer route and get some speed up.

I'm in no hurry, it's a lovely meander away from traffic.

What is the problem with this country?

When I went to Japan I was allowed to ride on the pavement.

Although I wasn't comfortable with this considering I dont do it here I found the peds and cars very tolerant.

Something we lack in this country.
