Thinking of acquaintances, not anyone on here, it seems to me that many would rather put faith in miracle cures and pills without first putting in much/any effort with things that actually make an enormous difference to wellbeing.
eg improving diet, gut health, doing exercise, increasing core strength & flexibility and not being a complete ______ to people around you.
Cutting down on booze is another one; or stopping completely.
Can't do much about genetics, but so much disease is self-inflicted. Most of us indulge in selfish and self-destructive behaviours. It can be difficult to stop these, but it's easy to make improvements and work your way to a much better place.
As for smoking, i'm so glad i never went down that path....
