I wouldn't say you were delusional just because you like to create, and live by, your own definitions of words. The dictionary doesn't happen to agree with you, and neither, I daresay, would very many other cyclists, most of whom would maintain they are participating in 'sport' whether they compete or not. The fact that you announce unilaterally that we all know you are right is a little flaky, I'll admit, but I wouldn't go so far as to call you delusional. Just a bit misguided.
ha ha - I see what you did there - you pretended that comment wasn't aimed at you. My kids do that...

Like I said earlier, if believing that you are a 'sportsman' gets you up in the morning then I'm genuinely pleased for you. However, your claim that I live by 'my own definition of words' is mildly ironic, given your own somewhat desperate devotion to the OED.
What I will say is that there are plenty of references out there which define sport as a 'competitive' activity. If you don't believe me, try phoning 'Sport England', explain to them what you do and ask them for some funding (here's a tip: hold the phone away from your ear while they laugh). But the OED reference obviously suits you, so that is clearly the one you should cling to.
I can't even remember what the thread is about anymore - oh yes, magazines. They're all rubbish.
