Good point - sort of.
Steady flow of traffic, decent road width. I'd have no problem cruising at 24 mph on standard drops.

Good point also, I always forget which bars have the brakes on on a tri setup!
However, I still think that had i caught the drivers eyes and known theyd have seen me I'd have had no reason to slow. Perhaps a lot of assumptions on my behalf.

Ride and drive defensively, and everyone is safer. What's a few seconds, it's not a race. The time and money wasted in pointless offs costs far more than just thinking a bit. Hard to tell how well the rider was scanning cos the camera was on the bike.
No apparent caution approaching a junction, failed to move out for the junction (to return to primary afterwards), and generally looked like he was concentrating on going for it rather than the surrounding environment.
I'm pleased the guy is ok, but can't help thinking he rushed blindly into this one.
