Canal street - the gay capital of M/cr - just so you know the funniest legend from the area was on one of the 'gay parade' days, someone knicked the 'C' from Canal and the 'S' from Street to add a bit of frivolity. Never liked it much myself though - lots of peeps posing for photographs that aren't being taken.

Tommy ducks.... aah - memories.

You'll tell me the 'swinging sporan' has gone next.

and drink in the lloyds bar , since its wetherspoon prices .

that and the lloyds by town hall sq probably safer than the 'fight night' places moon under water and the piccadilly gardens wetherspoons...

as well as canal street, i'd also recommend checking out 'FAB cafe', http://www.fabcafe.co.uk/ corny, but a laugh  . or satans hollow , http://www.viewmanchester.co.uk/clubs/satans-hollow-info-30859.html

or even peter hooks new club ( not been this one) http://www.factorymanchester.com/factory2.html

tbh, i'd not goto dukes, but mainly as I used to work next to there and its thinks its more poncy than it is and is expensive  . I'd prefer the knott bar or one of the places next to museum of science and industry.

you're in disbury... well, there used to be some good boozers down there, also i seem to recall something like a mongolian place ? ahh nepalese
