And in case anyone is interested.

My profile pic is of my dad and friends from the early 1950's, he was 17.
They followed the Tour de France, camping along the way.
Fully loaded bikes and in their cardigans and canvas shorts.
That's them at the top of Col du Galibier.
My old man 'upgraded' his bike to a 5 speed for the trip! It was either a Hobbs of Barbican which he still has or an earlier one, can't quite remember.
He still says "why do you need all those gears" and suggests my 80's bike has "New fangled technology".

Brilliant

I was referring to the M/L which comes between medium and large on that sizing chart.

No worries, it gets silly the way manufacturers measure things, or don't show it.
All this s/m/l stuff, then half sizes!

I'm just glad that M in the Marin is the way to go.

Thanks

Ok, just picked up bike.
I'll need to get seat height and position corrected but seems good so far. Chain rubbing on front mech but I can give it a wee adjust, shop should have done that

I do feel that I can't get into a real aero position as it's slightly cramped i.e. I feel I need to stretch my arms more. Seat is in mid position fore-aft so I can put it back.

Also, what with the large tyres/clearance and long wheelbase the mudguards look a bit small. Should I have gone for SKS longboard? Thought they might be a bit to near the ground for off-road cycling but maybe not?

Pics to follow
