Mark Cavendish injured at Ghent Six Day yesterday

I just read that Cav had a very bad crash at the Ghent Six Day yesterday - details HERE.

It sounds pretty horrid, but hopefully he will make a good recovery.

There must be a time when a rider asks himself/herself if they want to carry on taking those risks... Froome carried on after his awful accident. I wonder if Cav will after this? I reckon the answer will be yes, as long as the recovery permits it.

I only came across the article on Twitter by chance, I was a bit surprised not to see it reported more widely. Sounds quite nasty to crack a couple of ribs and collapse a lung ☹️ I hope he recovers quickly.

He's a tough cookie and, more importantly, loves riding his bike. He'll be back asap.

But, cripes, poor bloke's been through it over the years. He's made of stern stuff and lesser mortals might have called it quits years ago.... this? t'is but a scratch.
