Two decent presenters (Chris Harris and Matt le Blanc) and two annoying ones (Chris Evans and Sabine Schmitt)

Better than the old version where they had 3 annoying ones

It's a bit more complicated than that...
Evans likes to have dumb little side kicks to put down - Le Blanc fits the bill.
You haven't seen Episodes then? Le Blanc as "himself", and Stephen Mangan and Tamsin Greig as a couple of British writers in Hollywood. Le Blanc isn't dumb and is extremely good at making himself the butt of the joke in a knowing way.

I don't think Top gear will ever be the same again. The other trio had chemistry that worked very well between them. I am not even sure that they will be able to reproduce that on Amazon Prime to be honest.
It was all about the chemistry. Maybe the formula was getting a bit tired but having watched a few of the old episodes recently it struck me just how well they worked together. In comparison I've just watched an episode of 5th Gear on Discovery and theres nothing there. The presenters laugh and joke a bit and they are decent at presenting. But thats were it falls down, it never seems more than a job. They turn up, go through the script with a bit of ad-libbing then got home again. Seems a bit forced.
The TG team went to Africa, Boliva and god knows how many others on road trips. And no matter how much of those programs was scripted theres a bond formed by just being there together. Even the TG America team managed that same feel once they stopped trying to do a studio section and just went with road trip challenges.
Will be interesting to see what both new programmes turn out like.

Have you seen the ITV4 program "Classic Cars" with Quentin Wilson, and Jodie Kidd? There's an example of desperately forced on-screen chemistry.
Even more forced than 5th gear!

I was pitching how he would fit in the makeup of the programme. Being dumb or acting dumb really produces the same result = butt for Evans to belittle.
