Matt Le Blanc for top gear

He has had one for a long time. Let's face it he is succesful, reason enough for a lot of brits to dislike him. Personally I find him entertaining and not at all annoying.

So you are OK with him-
Shouting all the time.
Emphasising a random word OUT of every sentence when he speaks.
Still doing the silly thing from the 80s commercial stations on the radio where you pretend to smile as you talk so it all sounds so much fun.
Talking about himself all the time.
Having endless side kicks around him and talking to them in a very belittling way.
Behaving like he is a teenager when he is almost 50.
That's not an accurate description.

I'll repeat my point and ask why Clarkson's belittling, bigoted, cyclist-hating, prejudiced, bullying behaviour was accepted (and quite heavily excused and defended) while some seem to have a problem with a charismatic but far less dangerous celebrity being a charismatic celebrity?
Least Clarkson isn't a fecking ginger....

Dear God....please don't let Mrs Kes read this.... There's nowt worse than a fecking ginger for a temper. :-)

Might not be the only one guilty of that

My wife has been looking forward to me growing up. Not gonna happen.

10 likes for that one. Growing older is compulsory, growing up is not.

@vickster thats harsh but we are entitled to our own view

i am not keen on CE and never really have been , i enjoyed watching Matt le bonk on Friends like a lot others did , and i understand he is a good driver and has a strong liking for cars so lets hope he will be ok . Where as CE just seems to like being able to throw his money around buying whatever he wants and has a vast array of different cars and anybody who buys the Sexy Fiat 130 coupe cant be all that bad can they

I have no interest in modern cars, and especially not supercars with hundreds of torques, but I absolutely loved Top Gear. Not the bits where they smoke the tyres of a Galliardo, but the daft stuff like when they built floating cars to cross a lake. When May came round a corner in a Triumph Herald with a mast and sail, I couldn't stop laughing. Or trying to beat each others' lap times in an inoffensive shopping car. I know it was all rather blokey humour, but I appreciated the sheer nonsense and the un-PC nature of most of their output. Like Last of the Summer Wine with a gas-flowed head and nitrous.

As someone said above, it had probably reached the end of its natural life, and I can appreciate the BBC had to be seen to act after the 'incident' with Clarkson. But I fear that the new Top Gear will be a massive flop, purely because it will be trying to follow something that cannot be replicated, and even the best presenters will be unkindly compared with C M and H. I neither like nor dislike Chris Evans, and I have no idea who Matt Le Blanc is (I'm not a telly person) so I will approach any new format with an open mind, but I think the Top Gear that we all knew and loved/hated is history now.
