Mavic cosmic cxr 60 making a metal noise???

Hi guys! I am new to these chat forums.
I have a new set of mavic cxr 60 on my felt TT.
They have only been used for about 100 miles but I have now developed a "metal" clunk when the wheel is turning like there is something inside the carbon wheel. I have taken off the wheel and inner tube and can't see anything. Any ideas??!

I don't think you're going to get a diagnosis from the little information you've given.

Rear or front? Moving along or just spinning? Pedalling or freewheeling? Climbing? Descending? On the flat? Braking? What QRs? How tight? Any play in the cranks? Any side-to-side movement in the rim when the wheel is fitted? Are all the spokes tight? If you remove the wheel and shake it, can you hear something loose inside the rim?

Why don't you take the wheel back to the retailer?

Try spinning the wheel off the bike to see if the noise continues
or it its something on your bike interfering with the rim/wheel (bearings)

Yes taken the rear wheel off and the noise is still there. I have taken off the tyre and inner tube and it seems to be in the carbon rim. Sometimes the noise does go away, like (whatever the object is) gets stuck and then comes looses if you shake it again.

It's the rear one. The noise is there when wheel is mounted in the bike and also when the wheel is taken off. The wheel itself is only 12months old and Hardly be used. I'm only 86kg so not too much of s weight issue. Has been only used in sprint triathlons.
When I take the wheel off and tyre and inner tube and rim tape yes you can still hear something inside.

The wheel could have had a spoke replaced and a nipple is still inside
if its a deep section rim they use a magnet to get the nipple in the hole when replacing .. just a thought

The wheels were brand new from mavic

Sorry, pressed the wrong button before thanking you for your reply.
Them at does sound like a possible idea as it does sound like a small piece of metal. Is there any way of getting it out or do I need to return the wheel? Thanks again for your help in this matter

Its tricky to do .. you could do it yourself
you will need a magnet to try and bring the nipple to the valve hole in rim
Or take it to your LBS

Did you ever solve this? I have the same issue with my cxr 60 front wheel.

It's stones flicking up into the holes where the spokes are, I have constantly had this issue with the wheels, I am having to send them back now. Some you can jiggle them about and get them out.

Jeez!! Listening to that for 40 miles would do my head in!

It stops when you're going faster than like 5mph as the inertia of the wheel spinning pins them into a specific place. It's obviously mega annoying at junctions and pulling away.
