Does anybody know how to check for rim wear on a Mavic CXP 22 rim?
This is my front rim. My rear is something else and has a visible groove.
When I bought the bike, I really didn't know about things like this and honestly cannot remember if it had a groove or not, it certainly doesn't now. I get conflicting info on the web about whether these rims have a groove/a partly drilled hole that becomes visible or both.
The rim has done not far off 6000 miles and, whether right or wrong, I use my front break more than my rear, although as most rides are long and out of the city, I am not constantly on them. This has been through all seasons over the period of a year.
I have also attached a picture below.
