Mavic Wheel Purchase.

I am interested in getting some Mavic wheels but I dont want the tyres they come with so can I ask for rims only and would the tyre price be taken of the price of the wheels..

Seems to be more and more retailers doing wheels as a package with tyres. Not sure I like it as most times you have your own preference of tyre. I suppose the only thing is to get in touch with them to ask if they would reduce the price without.

Dead right Mo.. I love my Conti 4000's and can't see any reason to change..

I have ridden aksiums for some time.Good wheels stay as true as the day I bought them.Only problem I find is my Micelin tyres are tight to fit.

I also run Aksium's on the roady.I was changing over cassettes last night. I haven't adjusted the spoke tension since I've had the bike, I checked the true whilst I had the wheel off. And it is still running pretty much bang on true, despite several thousand miles, which includes some pretty knackered road surfaces. Not bad for an entry level wheel.

I've just fitted some Marathon's and they're a bit on the tight side..

Absolute bargain on the chain and wheelset. 150 for the rims freewheel and QR skewers, 15 quid for the chain

For those who know whats the difference between askiums and shimano rs 11 which you can pick up for £96 on ribble, afaik theres about 3 grammes in it !

I have RS11s on mine and there fine although i was tempted bythe askiums is there any real world difference?
