But as usual we have NO idea what the cyclists were doing. We have a vague idea that THEY think they were ok to do what were doing but nothing more. We have a video of an argument with a police officer but surprise surprise no video of their behaviour before this. As usual it's easy to criticize the police [of any country] but if the law says one thing and you choose to do something else then tough - like a speeding motorist don't cry when you get caught. I note that in the first instance they were trying to justify something but we are not 100% sure what. One final point - it would also those officers who would have to pick up the smashed remains if one of those riders had been hit.

The impression I got is that they were riding three abreast to take the lane.
