My Spirit recumbent not quite in front of King Charles' Tower, just beyond the trees on Chester city wall. From there it is reputed that King Charles I glumly watched his army being defeated during the English Civil War. The canal alongside used part of the original moat here and passes through a man made canyon below the walls a bit further on.
