Measuring the saddle height...

Ok... how do you measure the saddle height?

I'm guessing from the centre of the BB, but do you measure vertically upward, or along the seat tube? And, do you measure to the top face of the saddle i.e. the bit you sit on?

From the centre of the BB up the seat tube to the part you park your ass on, in line with the seat tube and post.

As well as measuring from the BB, I also measure from the centre of the Hex nut in the ahead set to the tip of the saddle to give me the measurement of the forward and backward position of the saddle, and I also measure from a lug on my top tube where my brake cable goes to the tip of my saddle to also give me the height of the nose of the saddle, especially if it is angled down slightly.

These measurements, I take with a long car aerial and mark them with tape, It then becomes a simple job to reset the saddle if you remove it.
