Some dogs are like that
Mine was an Alsatian (GSD in metric) and hence mostly black
but in the summer she used to like lying on the lawn in the sun
She always seemed to be fine as long as she had plenty of water around
Although I had to be careful as that breed likes carrying their food around and she often tried to carry her water bowl around
which was better for watering the lawn than the dog!!!
I ended up always having a large bucket of water brim-full in the garden when I went out
so some reason she never tried carrying that
