Anyone recommend a cheap pair for dog walking in the wet?, will get a proper pair once the winter arrives.

I've had a pair of Meindl boots and the wife a pair of their shoes. Both lasted less than a year and I refuse to buy that make now. The boots were repaired under warranty and then failed again at the same place a few months later. The missus' shoes didn't fall apart, but they did start letting water in after a short period of use.

I've not long bought a pair of Keen boots. They look a bit odd and I can't vouch for their longevity yet, but they fitted like comfy old slippers from day one. They retailed at £115, but the guy in the shop was daft enough to show me his ordering screen, which showed the trade price of £50, so I immediately asked for a discount!

Mine are about 10 years old but water was getting into the mid sole in the first year, I sealed it up with glue but it must of still been getting in, hence why the mid sole rotted on that boot and not the other one.

Keen make good boots - I've worn out three pairs over the years. Nice wide and comfy toe too.

Even better are these (company founded by either an ex Keen owner, or designer - can't remember which):

The Bridger Mid Waterproof are brilliant - great sole for scrambling, extremely comfortable and come with a very high quality footbed as standard which is a rarity.

Can get these for £65 but cant work out the sizing, Oboz has got the same guy Shimano uses to convert the sizing^_^

Where did you find them at that price? Is that an odd size clearance price?

Are you using UK sizing?

I cant remember where, maybe amazon, I can use any sizing, I am 10.5 in US, 9.5 in UK or 44 in EU, the sizing charts are impossible to use for them because they have been converted wrongly like Shimano.
