I've had a pair of Meindl boots and the wife a pair of their shoes. Both lasted less than a year and I refuse to buy that make now. The boots were repaired under warranty and then failed again at the same place a few months later. The missus' shoes didn't fall apart, but they did start letting water in after a short period of use.
I've not long bought a pair of Keen boots. They look a bit odd and I can't vouch for their longevity yet, but they fitted like comfy old slippers from day one. They retailed at £115, but the guy in the shop was daft enough to show me his ordering screen, which showed the trade price of £50, so I immediately asked for a discount!
