A backup? Can't you just upload your Boardman to your hard drive?

You want a carbon bike as a backup to a carbon bike. Guessing you never ride in the rain . Or has the boardman started to melt. Go steel for a proper back up

Brava 210. If you've got £800 to spare, why don't you have 1 really cracking bike rather than 2 OK bikes? When has your Boardman ever let you down? Ergo, you don't need a back-up, really, do you?

I was thinking of the Mekk as a possible winter bike, different tyres etc.
It seems to have a good frame as a base, with tiagra etc.

Of course they don't but they do get fat if you don't ride them regularly.

The melting thing is a bit of a joke about the supposed fragility of carbon.

The Mekk looks good to me, potential to upgrade in the future. If you like it, buy it.
