Just call me Chris...
Morning all,

The member location map is split into two pages for some reason, no doubt it's something I've done wrong but I really can't see what.

Anyone prepared to have a look and see if it can all be combined?

Got a link?

I notice that there are two alphabetical lists, one for those whose name starts with a Capital letter, and one for those with a lower case letter.

Is there any possible way please, without hours of amending names, for all the names to be in one alphabetical order, with apologies for being fussy.:smile:

I don't know if that can be done to be honest. The reason some are lower case is because I use the exact name supplied to me, even down to the case of the letters whether it seems right or not.
I'm sure it could be listed differently, but only by someone more skilled than me

Unfortunately that link doesn't work properly anyway. Shaun pointed out that it only shows Uk entries, and if you look closely, most of those are missing for some reason so it's still currently split into two.

Well I've worked with Google maps before - see here - so if you've got a list somewhere in a file then I can help.

I'll bung you a PM in case you miss this thread.

PM - does this map show the non-UK entries that you realised were missing?

Thanks for your help, much appreciated.

I'm actually on holiday at the moment so haven't been opening the map for the last couple of weeks as I'm logging in from my phone and the connection is too slow to do that.

We're back tomorrow so I'll try and have a look in the next couple of days at your link.
I need to start updating it soon as there's another 20 entries to go in.

No, unfortunately it doesn't.
There's at least one in the States that doesn't show and also if you zoom in on the UK it only shows enries in the South.

I don't have a list anywhere, just the member names that appear on the side of the map.
I can send you the login details for the map if you do get chance to have a play with it?

Have a look at this test map. It automatically calculates the zoom level to show all points but it might make more sense to just show the UK by default then people can zoom out to see the few members elsewhere if they like. Might be an idea to change the icon or cluster some of the icons so there aren't so many as well.

Anyway, let me know if that's any use to you and we can go from there. I take it the site admin is willing to host it from the cyclechat.co.uk domain?
