"Book of Remembrance". Just south of Oberndorf am Neckar in south Germany.
Oberndorf is home to major munitions producers, and during the war, this meant slave labour; lots of slave labour.
The Book of Remembrance records the names of the slaves (of different nations), the Jewish citizens of Oberndorf killed in the Holocaust, and the people with disabilities killed during the war.
It also includes a map of the town, showing the locations of the internment camps and factories.
The "pages" are stainless steel: every time one is turned, it makes a sound like a prison door slamming closed.
