Best thing I discovered in years was the sensitive range of Nivea shaving products.

Before I started using their sensitive aftershave balm, my face would be incredibly sore and spotty for days after a shave. I'd have one day of smooth, 4 days of hairy Yeti because I daren't put a razor anywhere near my fizz'og

Now I moisturise with generous amounts of balm I'm able to shave every other day, and my face doesn't get that red raw spotty teenager look about it. Smooth, calm, clear skin. Lovely.

Cheers,
Shaun

Moi? Moisturise?

Well, actually I don't. But, then again, I don't shave myself. And when I do go for a shave I get all sorts of stuff slapped on - and not just on my beard. The top of my head gets a really good polishing!

Well, Well, Well.. we have a fair even split between the baby faced moisturisers and the hard cheeked scratchers...

I used to after a shave but since I started using proper shaving soap or cream instead of rubbish from an aerosol, I don't feel the need anymore.

Indeed, it currently stands at 31 yes vs 29 no.

I'm a yes but I think that there's a bit of a focus here on faces. As I said on the shaving thread, I often dry shave my face with no ill-effects.

However, after years working on the farm, practically bathing in diseasel on a daily basis, the skin on my knuckles now starts cracking in mid-October and needs moisturiser from then to March/April. If I skip a day with the moisturiser, it becomes very painful and soon starts bleeding, so I slap Norwegian formula or something similar on daily.

I put up with the "wuss" gags because:
  • the cause is most likely my time spent in more "manly" pursuits than the admin manager who thinks it funny that I moisturise ("I'm a lumberjack and I'm ok...")
  • two minutes of cheap lines from those who know no better is better than 24/7 pain.
