Met Handcyclist Simon Kindleysides today

From just up the road from me, lives Simon Kindleysides. He's a paraplegic handcyclist, ex ballet dancer who has had a spine injury and is now in a wheelchair. Awesome chap, who is cycling from London to Paris, with his hand bike trike next month.

I told him about Cyclechat, and what a nice bunch that we all are and that our idle gossip is not just for 2 wheeled pedal cyclists. He let Hubster have a go on his trike (he said that it was bloody hard work and that he'll stick to his Boardman ta). Anyway, Simon has the most positive attitude of anyone I've met this month - possibly all year with the exception of @SatNavSaysStraightOn. We popped a few quid into his buckets and stopped for a chat.

We saw loads of hand cyclists in Lanzarote in March.
Saw them around the resort then again miles away when we went for a wee drive up north.
Some of the hills they were tackling were unbelievable.

I wonder if that was the chap I saw today near Stowmarket. Only caught a glimpse as we were heading in opposite directions, but I remember thinking 'Jesus that looks like hard work'.
