From road rage to slimy management and on behalf of all innocent victims of crime everywhere, I believe in Karma. What I can't bring justice to myself, I have to believe someone/something somewhere will. Think of this, smile and move on. Well, that's the theory anyway

I find telling the missus helps - she's heard it so many times that she totally doesn't give a t0ss and you end up thinking "oh, why did I bother". And just think - that blokes poor missus (better half / SO / etc etc) is probably listening to the same from him - and thinking "yes, yes, oh dear, move on, stop being a wally" - as are his work colleagues. :-)

But I know what you mean. It's the frustration of knowing that no amount of logic, reasoning or baseball bat will change his way of thinking.
Just look forward to going through the whole same thing with a different motorist on the way home... and tomorrow... and the next day...

You did the right thing Mr P. Good on ya:thumbsup:.

So so easy to say behind a keyboard but there's no point remonstrating with someone who has an axe to grind.

I had an agressive twunt yesterday. I was soooo tempted to "accidently" fall off my bike such that my handlebars would have rubbed alongside his van when stationary at a set of red lights. I just went past and waved and said thanks mate sarcastically, then kind of did a little drum beat on his bonnet.

I try very hard to not get into situations with motorists. I'll have a shout they'll have a shout that's fine it's banter. Someone gets out the car and continues. Then they obviously want a shot at the title!

Here for rides.
Well dealt with sir.

Best way to let go? If it is early on my route I take a small detour and wash the "arrggghhh!" out of my system on a local hill. If late I take a few minutes longer in the shower eyes shut and let the water wash it away.

and I pray a lot.... something about my errors being forgiven in proportion to how much I forgive others for theirs... I 'offer it up'

Yeah, well done! Best possible practice there. Are you going to report it? I really believe it's important to bring consequences to such a nasty little bully, because that behaviour will only escalate with time, and the next cyclist he does it to he might hit.

LOL! That's quite a funny response, perhaps only beaten by the "vomit on the bonnet" moment Cab told us about years ago.

In between here and there
The problem is by ignoring him on your first pass he felt the upperhand and you were running (cycling) scared, I accept this was not the case but these people are bullies and because he felt so good having "scared" you he came back for seconds. I have a genuine problem with what I call a red mist and when pushed far enough and if it clicks in I will confront these tossers, and luckily everytime they beat a retreat, locking doors winding windows up etc.

It is not something that happens often but rather ashamed of not being able to control it when it does happen.

It's all about ego when it comes down to it. Is a slightly bruised ego for an hour or so really worth the risk possibly suffering an injury that could keep you off your pride and joy for weeks/months! I'd have done exactly what the OP did - unless the driver had put me in a position where I felt I had to be ready to defend myself. And I'm trained to fight!!
