Apple pay is limitless. The security is far better than with a contactless card as on the phone you need your fingerprint and the watch it needs to be unlocked, plus no information about the card goes anywhere near the retailer. The watch will lock itself automatically if it is removed from your wrist, so it cannot even be stolen and used.

Postal orders were old hat even when I was a kid in the 70s. They used to crop up in story books - so and so's aunt sent him a postal order for ten shillings, which he blew on ginger beer. Travellers cheques I think I last used in the 90s. I still haven't figured out paypal

I think the one and only time I ever used a postal order was to join the Dennis the Menace fan club when I was a kid, circa 1979.

Back in the day bank accounts tended to be the preserve of the middle classes, they were less common among the working class oiks so postal orders were the way to pay for mail order goods.

I can't remember the last time I used one, though I must have sent quite a few.

Last Postal Order used was 8 years ago. Still use cheques. Put them through the printer to print off.

Cards, BACS & Paypal have all been used. Wary of remote terminals though. Switch your bluetooth on next time your near one.

Be interesting to see how many will continue to use cards, when the banks start placing the transaction fee on your account, not the suppliers.

Yes, I remember buying the more expensive stuff from the catalogue the neighbor brought round or on hire purchase, it was the only way we could afford it, I also remember going without and having to wait before buying stuff because we could only afford so much from the catalogue or the HP.

You are all forgetting luncheon vouchers. Many employers part paid their staff with these. very handy they were too.
